Senior Platform Engineer

Why do we need you? Well, we are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer who will bring hands-on subject-matter expertise with Go and the Kubernetes API. You will report to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure and will be responsible for building components of a self-service platform that allows product developers to independently operate Calendly’s services.

Designing and building tools and applications to extend Calendly’s infrastructure platform
Evaluating and guiding the development of applications for your team
Exercising expertise in cloud infrastructure concepts and patterns
Fostering a collaborative environment of learning and knowledge dissemination

8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and/or software development
Creative problem-solving, a keen eye for detail, and ability to deliver high quality solutions to complex issues
Strong Go (Golang) development experience; especially writing APIs to build, orchestrate and manage cloud infrastructure
Expert knowledge of patterns and principles for designing and implementing cloud native applications on Kubernetes, such as Controllers and Operators
Experience building application on Temporal a plus
Experience designing, building, and running highly-available production applications
An understanding of the Linux operating system, and systems engineering fundamentals
Technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure (especially GCP), distributed systems, and reliability practices
Working knowledge of software and infrastructure tuning and observability (especially Datadog)
Availability for participation in on-call rotation, ensuring prompt and effective responses to business-critical alerts outside of regular working hours
