Senior Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be at the forefront of building and scaling our backend ad system, which will power the next wave of AI-native ads. You’ll need to have a deep understanding of the intricacies of programmatic ad systems and the ability to deliver high-performance solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless ad operations while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in a real-time, low-latency environment.

Architect, build, and scale our backend ad system to handle real-time traffic and ad serving at a massive scale.
Develop solutions for ad targeting, matching, pricing, and optimization.
Collaborate closely with the ML and product teams to align backend development with business objectives.
Optimize system performance for low-latency, high-throughput operations.Ensure the system’s scalability and reliability in cloud environments such as GCP or AWS.
Take ownership of backend services, ensure system health, and improve overall performance.
Key RequirementsExtensive experience building backend systems for programmatic advertising, with a deep understanding of business logic like intent recognition, targeting, and ad matching.
Proven experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, etc.), with the ability to scale backend systems in the cloud.Expertise in Python is essential; experience with additional programming languages is a plus.Experience in optimizing low-latency, high-throughput backend systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.

Experience leading teams or taking a leadership role in backend development.
Experience working with ad tech, real-time bidding systems, or related backend services.Familiarity with distributed systems and large-scale data processing frameworks.
Experience in a fast-paced startup environment is a plus.
